Taycan battery health check: state of health, cell voltages and isolation
The Taycan's battery management knows far more about the high-voltage pack than the range on the dash. STEUER14 reads it over a standard ENET cable and shows every module, the state of health and the isolation resistance — free, on every plan.
What the Taycan battery check shows
Open the Battery Energy Control Module and STEUER14 adds a Battery tab: a map of the pack as it sits in the car, and the readouts, each judged with a status pictogram the way the factory tester judges them.
The module map
The Performance Battery has 28 modules and the Performance Battery Plus 33, numbered from M01. Each module shows its voltage, its cell drop in millivolts and a balance gauge, coloured green, amber or red against thresholds that depend on the state of charge. The highest and lowest modules are tagged MAX and MIN.

How to run the battery check
- 01Connect the carPlug the ENET cable into the OBD port and your laptop, switch the ignition on and sign in with your free STEUER14 account. Scan the car with Connect & poll.
- 02Open the battery moduleOpen the Battery Energy Control Module from the control-unit list. It opens on the Battery tab and is marked Free.
- 03Read the batteryPress Read battery. The map fills in module by module and every readout gets its verdict.
- 04Keep the resultUse Full screen for a second monitor, or Print report for a PDF with the map and every readout — for a customer, a buyer or the car's file.
- 05Compare over timeEvery read is saved to your account history under Battery reads, in the app and in the web panel, so the next read can be compared with this one.
What the numbers mean
In general terms — the verdict pictograms are STEUER14's thresholds, a guide rather than a factory limit:
State of health (SoH)

Temperatures
Isolation resistance
Charge & discharge limits
Compare like with like: cell voltages and their spread change with charge level and load, so take reads at a similar state of charge with the car at rest.
Signs that need a closer look
- State of health in the amber or red band, or clearly falling from one read to the next.
- One module that is repeatedly tagged MIN with a noticeably bigger cell drop than the rest.
- Isolation resistance marked amber or red.
- Faults stored in the battery module — its fault memory is free to read as well.
- Temperatures marked red with the car at rest.
STEUER14 shows what the battery management reports; it doesn't open or repair the pack. High-voltage work is only for HV-qualified technicians, with the system made voltage-free.
Checking a used Taycan

Is the Taycan battery check free?
Yes. The whole high-voltage battery module is free on every plan — the Battery tab, its fault memory, live values and actuator tests — with no card and no expiry.
Does STEUER14 show the battery's state of health (SoH)?
Yes. The state of health, as the battery management reports it, is in the Energy group next to state of charge, usable energy and energy content.
Which Taycan battery packs are covered?
Both packs of the Taycan (9J1): the Performance Battery with 28 modules and the Performance Battery Plus with 33 modules. The app recognises the variant and draws the right map.
Can I keep the result?
Yes. Print report creates a PDF with the map and every readout, and every read is stored in your account history, in the app and in the web panel.
