STEUER14 reads all 76 control units of a Porsche 911 (992) over a standard ENET cable: fault memory with full descriptions, live values, actuator tests, guided maintenance procedures, coding and programming, in one app on the laptop you already own. Reading and clearing fault codes is free.
| Function | On the 911 (992) | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Fault memory | Read and clear stored and active faults on every control unit, with descriptions; compare with the car's previous scan. Freeze-frame data is shown raw, not decoded | Free |
| Actuator tests | Tests that need no security unlock | Free |
| Actuator tests (unlock) | Tests that need the security unlock | Car licence or workshop |
| Live values | Measurement values per control unit, with recording and CSV export | Car licence or workshop |
| Maintenance & repairs | The factory tester's guided procedures, step by step | Car licence or workshop |
| Coding | Manual coding in the table editor and automatic coding from the vehicle order, with a backup before every write | Car licence or workshop |
| Vehicle order | The PR codes of the car, decoded and editable, with a backup first | Car licence or workshop |
| Guided fault finding | A test plan for a fault: the checks, the values to read and the procedures to run | Full plans with a car licence or workshop |
| Programming | Manual programming of one control unit, and automatic programming to the car's target software | Programming pass or workshop |
Every scan, coding write and programming job is kept per VIN in your account history, in the app and in the web panel.
One scan reaches every control unit on the 911 and returns each stored and active fault with its text, not just a raw code. Clear faults per control unit or for the whole car, and see what changed since the last scan of the same car. This part is free on every account, with no card and no expiry, so you can confirm that STEUER14 talks to your 911 before you pay for anything. See Fault memory in the manual.
With a car licence or the workshop plan, every control unit's live values open, with recording and CSV export (manual). Actuator tests drive components so you can check them; the ones that need no security unlock are free (manual).
The Maintenance & Repairs tab runs the factory tester's guided procedures step by step, with preconditions to confirm and the result of every request (manual). On the 992 the list includes, for example, the service interval reset in the instrument cluster, brake service bleeding, steering-angle sensor calibration, front camera calibration, rear spoiler teach-in and window and seat-motor initialisation. Which procedures you see depends on the control units in the car.
Coding on the 911 works as on every supported Porsche: a flat table per control unit, one row per parameter, a full server backup before every write and a read-back afterwards. Automatic coding compares each record with what the factory rules require for the car's vehicle order and writes only what deviates. More on the Porsche coding software page.
Software updates work on the 992 too: program one control unit by hand, or let automatic programming bring the car to its target software. It takes a programming pass (€49 for one car, 7 days) or the workshop plan; see the pricing page. What the 992 does not have: the battery pack map and the Charging page (Taycan only), the dyno-mode procedure, and decoded freeze frames.
Pricing in short: the car licence is €249 once for two of your own cars, unlocked for good; a programming pass is €49 for one car for 7 days, coding included; the workshop plan is €89 a month or €890 a year for every car, programming included. Prices plus 5% card fee. All sales are final, so try the free part on your car first.
Yes. It runs on macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon, and on Windows 10/11 (64-bit).
A standard ENET (Ethernet-to-OBD) cable, the same widely available cable used for BMW/VAG Ethernet diagnostics. No dealer interface.
Reading and clearing fault memory on every control unit, with descriptions, and actuator tests that need no security unlock. No card, no expiry.
Yes, with a car licence, a programming pass or the workshop plan: manual coding and automatic coding, with a server backup before every write. Software updates (manual and automatic programming) take a programming pass or the workshop plan.
Download STEUER14, plug in an ENET cable and read the fault memory on all 76 control units. Pay only when you want live values, maintenance, coding or programming.
